Thank you for your comments and research. What are your thoughts about a small diesel like a Kubota V1505-E3B that weighs less than 250 lbs? Like you point out, a generator engine must simply run at a constant RPM efficiently. This engine weighs at least 50 lbs less than a Pentastar so I would think that with the exhaust it might weigh about the same and use less fuel.

I know for a fact that the rubicon x has 456 gears. I own one pretty sure the willys has. 410. If you are going tondo this get the facts straight

If you noticed the Rubicon had steel bumpers front and back the wheelies had the plastic bumpers. The Rubicon also had a worn winch on the front of it. These little things start adding up

Probably like a Nissan I had with 5460 miles. Got tired of the weekly trips to the dealership for 5 recalls, sensor issues, noisy transmission and an oil change that I could no longer do , cause the lousy engineers made it impossible to DIY. That was back last October, funny, it’s still sitting on the lot with 5468 miles now.

I totally agree with your analysis of "Why The Pentastar", it's an established engine that while not very exciting, is very reliable and will likely not cause any issues. Plus, there is no need for another motor if the ONLY job for the gas engine is to turn a generator.

I got a 2022 5.0 f150 and there’s a extra hose going across the the engine so it’s definitely different they changed something

I have a 2022 2.7 w/ 3.73 and it was at ford for a week for repair to turbo and I had a 2022 2.7 3.55 loaner. On my same 100mi round trip commute I consistently got 1mpg worse with the 3.55 than 3.73 over the course of the week. Mostly 45 to 65mph speeds. Stock for stock both on 18” Goodyear territory 275/65/18 tires. Maybe a placebo but in 10th gear I find the 3.73 doesn’t boost as much as 3.55. But honestly the differences were so negligible it could’ve even been that the tires on the 3.55 loaner weren’t broken in yet and neither was the engine ( it was a brand new loaner ). I wouldn’t stress about fuel economy with 3.73 with these new 10 speeds. The differences are so small and as you said many other variables also come into play.

So how did Ford increase +2 hwy mpg in 2024? Is the tuning calibration actually different or is the EPA loop measuring it differently than before? Thanks for the great video.

Why are you comparing pickup truck gear ratios based on fuel economy? Gearing has to do with what you intend to use it for. Is it a daily driver? Will it be hauling a boat or a camper? Will be towing heavy loads such as farm, ranch, or construction equipment? Those jobs require different gearing ratios. Gas mileage isn’t really much of a factor in that equation. If your that concerned about fuel economy, buy a Prius.

I'm glad I just watched your video.I also watched the video of the test comparing the 23 and 24 5.0 equipped f150s ,each having different rear axle ratios.I knew right from the start it was not a fair comparison because of the differences between fuel economy ratings.I even mentioned this in my comments on the channel.I'm glad you set the record straight.

It's not a TRX. You would need to compare it to a Gen 2 Raptor. Compare the Gen 3 Raptor to a 20 - 24 TRX. Geez, you are not a truck guy.

How do these AT4 hold up with city driving (3.0 vs 5.3)? My commute is a maximum of 10 miles, but is 100% city. I currently own a 2023 Tundra (8,500 mi). I love the truck, but the premature engine failures have me concerned. Dealers aren't even accepting 22/23 trades because of the issue and toyota dealerships can't sell impacted inventory until their is a fix. I bought the extended warranty because i planned to have this 15 years but not if an engine blows!

On the JL Willys have came with the same shocks as the Rubicon but not springs. Not sure if the extreme Recon option upgrades the springs as well or not but I’m assuming it has better bigger shocks and upgraded springs to give the increased lift for clearance for the 35 inch tires.

Who would willingly buy this garbage? Not only is it ugly as HELL, but it has a garbage powertrain at best. I will take a Ranger Raptor any day over either of these or even a Ranger XLT with the 2.7 EcoBoost.

The 2025 model has even less space than the 2024 model when I was expecting more space in model 25. This is basically a 4 seater vehicle when you have to carry some suitcase or need to carry some other stuff like coolers etc. if you a family of 5 you can't go on vacation, field trip, or beach because you need the rear seat for the fifth person, and you have to carry the luggage and coolers etc. I can bet the Ford Taurse had more space than the Ford Explorer. You can't give a ride to the airport to a family of 4 people with this vehicle, where you put the luggage when a fifth person sitting on the third-row seat. This vehicle might be good if you are single or a couple with no kids. This is not a family vehicle anymore. I own a 2011 Explorer, and I was looking for a replacement and I am very very disappointed.

I test drove the Bronco Raptor and decided on the big Raptor instead. This thing is just too noisy for me haha. I didn’t have the chance to test the tech out. Does Braptor have lane centering and adaptive cruise like the big Raptor? The Raptor makes long road trips such a breeze since it pretty much drives itself on the highway as long as you touch the steering wheel once in a while. Idk..I’m so spoiled by the comfort of the Raptor now it’s so hard to drive anything else 😂
